After facing such criticism from his fellow countrymen, outsiders are also hitting him now. He\u00a0has long been lauded for his pivotal role in liberalising the\u00a0Indian economy. Popular US magazine <em>Time<\/em>\u00a0has termed him as an <em>underachiever. <\/em>It says that he is\u00a0&#8220;unwilling to stick his neck out&#8221; on reforms that will put the country back on growth path.<\/p>\n<p>Manmohan Singh is featured on the cover of Asian edition of Time magazine which would be out next week. The title on the cover says, &#8220;The Underachiever &#8211; India needs a reboot. Is Prime Minister Manmohan Singh upto the job?&#8221;. See the cover <a href=\"https:\/\/wordpress-256057-797351.cloudwaysapps.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/07\/0,16641,20120716,00.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">here<\/a>.<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>The report titled <em>A Man In Shadow<\/em>\u00a0asks India&#8217;s Congress party-led UPA coalition government,\u00a0&#8220;has found itself fending off corruption scandals and accused of showing a lack of economic direction&#8221;.<\/p>\n<p>It says, &#8220;&#8230;.investors at home and abroad are beginning to get cold feet. Voters too are losing confidence, as rising inflation and a litany of scandals chip away at the government&#8217;s credibility.\u00a0In the past three years, the calm confidence he (Singh) once radiated has been absent.
