{"id":1356,"date":"2012-01-23T12:22:57","date_gmt":"2012-01-23T12:22:57","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/wordpress-256057-797351.cloudwaysapps.com\/?p=1356"},"modified":"2012-01-23T12:33:15","modified_gmt":"2012-01-23T12:33:15","slug":"day-3-karnamein-of-jaipur-literature-festival","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/dailyjag.com\/literature\/day-3-karnamein-of-jaipur-literature-festival\/","title":{"rendered":"Day 3 happenings of Jaipur Literature Festival"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>Opera brought crowded chaos.\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong><\/strong>It was a big day or I must say the most glamorous day of Jaipur Literature Festival. <strong>Oprah Winfrey, Fatima Bhutto, Shashi tharoor, Chetan bhagat , Anupam Kher ,David Remnick , David Hare, Tom Stoppard<\/strong> were few to name among many other influential people, who graced JLF with their presence.<\/p>\n<p>Morning saw baffled and puzzled crowd both inside and outside the venue as American media proprietor, talk show host, actor, producer, and philanthropist <strong>Oprah Winfrey<\/strong> was here for a session. But visitors who were here to attend other sessions also suffered, as they had to wait long for the entry.<\/p>\n<p>Oprah, talked about bad Indian Traffic, and beautiful Indian culture of marriage, however she stated she herself is not a kind of woman who wants to get married. She also talked of the value of education so that people have choices, and her work in building a Leadership Academy for girls in Africa, saying how important it is to give whatever you have, so that the energy of yourself goes out into the world. She also talked about how she had been inspired to start a Book Club, because \u2018I love to read&#8217; .\u00a0Her book club promotes both modern literature and the classics that Oparah personally recommends.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Fatima Bhutto,<\/strong> a Pakistani poet, writer and journalist and granddaughter of former Prime Minister Zulfikar Ali Bhutto, the niece of former Prime Minister Benazir Bhutto, and daughter of Murtaza Bhutto was seen in conversation with <strong>Karan thapar<\/strong> along with <strong>Ayesha Jalal<\/strong>, in the session named <strong>\u2018On Pakistan\u2019<\/strong>. She spoke about changing circumstances in Pakistan since 1960. Later Shashi Tharoor launched Anupam Kher\u2019s book <strong>\u2018The Best Thing about You is&#8230;You!\u2019<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Evening ended with delightful performances of poetry reading by <strong>\u2018Jeet Thayil,Tishani Dosh and sudeep sen\u2019<\/strong>, Classical music by renowned musician <strong>\u2018Pandit Vishwa Mohan Bhatt\u2019<\/strong> and fusion musicful by <strong>\u2018Dub Colossus\u2019<\/strong>.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Opera brought crowded chaos.\u00a0 It was a big day or I must say the most glamorous day of Jaipur Literature Festival.
