He took a “BYTE”

Steve Jobs
the man who sold ( computers to) the world

He took a bite and the whole world cried when he died. Yes I am here today to pay my regards to one of the very few men who changed the world to the world as we know it now. Steve Paul Jobs. It has been said that only the men who are crazy enough to think that they can change the world are actually the one to do it. And Steve did it. He single-handedly  revolutionized the world of computing, and made computers a

child’s toy. He is the father of personal computers. He was bold, brave and he thought differently. He had a vision and the skills to make that vision come true.

There are very few people who changed the very basics of one industry. There is no other man who changed the very basics of many. Steve jobs also served as CEO of pixar studios, one of the board members of Disney, chairman and CEO of apple inc and what not.

There is an interesting story about the name APPLE. Steve Jobs and Steve Wozniak in March 1976 wanted to start a computer company and they needed a name to register it as incorporation. According to Wozniak, both he and Steve were driving along the Highway 85 between Palo Alto and Los Altos. Steve Jobs came up with a name “Apple Computers” during that trip. So Jobs proposed the name in the meeting next day and asked all the members to come up with a better name within next few hours or the name apple computers would be registered. Noone could come up with a better name so the name apple computers was registered and that very name changed the world.

Very few people know his salary as CEO of apple inc. No, his salary wasn’t in millions, even thousands in figure per year. His salary was $1 per year as the CEO of apple. The man was a visionary. He wasn’t in the business to earn money. He had earned enough already. He was there for self satisfaction, to change the world, make lives easy. He didn’t believe in showing. He believed in doing. He said “Design is not just what it looks like and feels like. Design is how it works.” He was a man who was free. He wanted to be different. He never followed anyone’s work. He started from scrap and made it larger then life. “Why join the nave, when you can be a pirate.” This shows his free spirit.

He was a great man. And he was too humble to acknowledge it. But the whole world knows it and that’s why the news of his death shocked everyone. Even his rivals were inspired by him. Bill gates says “The world rarely sees someone who has had the profound impact Steve has had, the effects of which will be felt for many generations to come. For those of us lucky enough to get to work with him, it’s been an insanely great honor. I will miss Steve immensely.” Such are the marks left by this great man.

The world will miss you. RIP Steve Jobs. You are the new definition of genius.

“Your time is limited, so don’t waste it living someone else’s life. Don’t be trapped by dogma – which is living with the results of other people’s thinking. Don’t let the noise of other’s opinions drown out your own inner voice. And most important, have the courage to follow your heart and intuition. They somehow already know what you truly want to become. Everything else is secondary.”- Steve Jobs.
