“Helpless over the petrol hike issue”- says Mr. Mukherjee
He said “Those who are criticising us, they should also remember that it is during their time all the petroleum products were decontrolled”
Mukherjee also said that during the National Democratic Alliance (NDA)’s rule between 1998 and 2004, international crude prices hovered between $24 and $36 while they have now gone up to $113.
But Mr. Mukherjee a common man is not concerned about these stats. What he is really worried off are the hikes in the prices of petrol and other things which are going up pretty frequently during this time.
This is the second major hike in four months. In May, petrol price was increased by Rs 5 per litre and now again by Rs 3.14/L.
Petrol now costs Rs 66.84 a litre at filling stations in Delhi, and even more in Gurgaon and Noida further burdening the middle- class.
So in spite of expressing government’s inability and helplessness the cabinet should work upon the measures to control these hikes so as to bring joy to common man or even allow a common man to live peacefully.
This is not a plea by a few hundreds or thousand people but by the whole nation.
