Pilates exercises
Pilates is a form of an exercise developed by Joseph Pilates. This form of exercise laid emphasis on development of flexibility and core strength. Pilates is becoming a rage all over the world. A number of people have shifted to this form of exercise as it yields better results in a comparatively shorter time span. Also, you do not require any expensive equipment for doing Pilates, usually only Pilates mat and Pilates ball is required.
There are a number of Pilate exercises. They are basically segregated into women Pilates exercises and men Pilates exercises. But all of them work on the six fundamental principles: centering, control, flow, breath, precision and concentration
Pilates exercises aim at whole body fitness, rather than toning and strengthening a particular muscle group. It enables you to get a better control over your body. Pilates also helps in prevention of injuries. One of the other essential benefits of Pilates is that, unlike other exercises, some of the Pilates postures can be done by pregnant women as well. Moreover, a number of women perform Pilates when rebounding from pregnancy. Also, it is suitable for people of all age groups. A wide range of people, such as athletes, dancers, gymnasts, sportsmen may benefit from doing Pilates.
