It is created by simmering milk to separate fat from the other components, which are strained off. Like any other clarified butter, Ghee is mostly fat. It has 62% saturated fats. This can help boost your intake of vitamin A, E, and K. Some people have a milk allergy or are lactose intolerant, and ghee is perfect for them as it is free of lactose and casein.

Ghee also has conjugated linoleic acid (CLA), a fatty acid, that helps you reduce fat, prevent cancer formation, alleviate inflammation and lower blood pressure.

Ghee also has butyric acid, which helps in maintaining insulin levels, preventing inflammation and also provides relief from Crohn’s disease and ulcerative colitis.

Ghee contains vitamin K2, which protects against tooth decay, and supports growth. It betters gut health and helps in digestion by increasing gastric acid.

Ghee contains both saturated and unsaturated fats, and the total fat content of ghee consists of approximately 65% saturated fats, 25% mono-saturated fat and 5% poly-unsaturated.

But Ghee makes People Fat, isn’t it?

A lot of people are opting for a ghee-based diet because of its numerous benefits. It is cheaper than Olive Oil and supplies essentials fats to the body, including omega-3’s and omega-6’s, which plays a major role in the anti-inflammatory processes, such as regulating the DNA’s production of inflammatory cytokines in the body. Contrary to common belief, fats are highly essential for the human body and aid in normal body functions, hormonal balance, and the absorption of essential vitamins. It is also very good for the skin, and aids in curing constipation.
